Jeanette is responsible for the design and site supervision of building mechanical systems including heating, ventilation, air conditioning, automatic controls, plumbing and fire protection. Her responsibilities include conceptual design, detailed design, construction documentation, construction administration and building condition assessments. Jeanette has also taken a leadership role in the application of sustainable design.
Jeanette approaches each project with "green building" in mind. As an example, she provided the mechanical design for the CK Choi Building at UBC - a landmark green building incorporating natural ventilation, composting toilets, rainwater storage for landscape irrigation and a wetland for purification of sanitary waste.
In Jeanette's day-to-day life, she can be found on one of her five bicycles commuting to and from work. She is also an avid traveller, preferring to spend her vacation time on an adventure such as an elephant trek in Cambodia or horseback riding in Morocco.
