Boys & Girls Club Fundraiser

Omicron values the community in which we live and work, and we’re continuously looking for ways to be involved and give back. This past November, we held a week-long fundraising campaign benefiting the Boys & Girls Club of South Coast BC. A non-profit organization serving children, youth and families, they offer out of school programs and services which support a healthy, physical, educational, social and emotional development. Annually, the Boys & Girls Club assists over 12,500 individuals and never turns anybody away due to an inability to pay.

Over the span of one week, we surpassed our goal of $35,000 and raised a total of $35,516! Our carnival-themed fundraiser featured competitive games and activities, raffle draws, silent auction, and the return of a very savage wine survivor, totaling 43 bottles. We wrapped up the week with pie face (Russian Roulette style!) between two senior leaders and, needless to say, it was an entertaining and slightly messy afternoon. Our wine survivor finale and unveiling of the final amount raised was announced at our holiday party which made the evening even more special.

Our fundraising campaign may be over, however, in the spirit of Omicronians and the desire to Be Involved, we will be hosting several volunteer activities at select Clubs in the coming year. We will be organizing everything from building to painting, installing equipment and gardening. Based on the excitement generated through the week, we are thrilled to continue supporting Omicron’s active team participation to make a difference.
