Omicron – Best of 2018

It was an exciting, milestone year for Omicron. We celebrated our 20th anniversary, launched a new website, kicked off 244 new projects, and welcomed new leadership. We’re excited to share these highlights with you.

20TH ANNIVERSARY

On June 21, we celebrated Omicron’s 20th anniversary with friends, colleagues and clients. Over 200 people joined us at The Permanent, a stunning heritage building in the heart of downtown. We shared laughs, cocktails and memories with those who made this journey possible. Over the years, we’ve realized it’s more than our process of integration; it’s how we work together that delivers a better experience. NEW LEADERSHIP

Michael Brimer – Senior Vice President, Integrated Project Delivery
With extensive experience leading teams focused on strategic and integrated project delivery, Michael’s focus is to achieve successful project management, client engagement and financial objectives. He also leads the overall business development strategy for both new business opportunities and existing clients.

Steve Horovitz – Vice President, Development
With over 25 years’ experience, Steve oversees the development, leadership and execution of our development business. Together with our existing team, Steve leads the full cycle of project acquisition, design, marketing, leasing, construction and post development activities. A commercial real estate professional, Steve’s experience spans all market sectors, and includes the purchase and sale of assets, development, leasing and property management.

BEST MANAGED DESIGNATION

Omicron Canada Inc. requalified as a 2018 Canada’s Best Managed Companies Platinum Club member by maintaining our Best Managed status for nine consecutive years. We are thrilled to be part of this program  that recognizes our continued commitment over the past 20 years to create a better experience for our clients and our people.

INTER-OFFICE ACTIVITIES

Fundraising
Throughout a week in November, we raised an astonishing $40,440.38 for United Way. We hosted a variety of activities such as a kick-off breakfast served by our Senior Leadership team, balloon pop, 50/50 draws, silent auction, and the most popular of them all; Wine Survivor. These funds benefit children, families, and seniors within our community.

Vancouver Renovation
The Vancouver office has recently undergone a transformation. A full tenant improvement including replacement of office furniture, addition of a meeting room, upgrades to washrooms, staff kitchen and the reception area completed with a splash of paint throughout. We are proud to have designed and constructed a welcoming space which our team members can thrive in. The office has been renovated with a focus on company culture and the ability to collaborate; which fosters our business model of integration.

Victoria Office Move
Our Victoria office found a new home in Eagle Creek Village, our recently completed mixed-use development, and retail, office and residential hub of View Royal, BC. The new office address is 420-29 Helmcken Road in View Royal. We’re excited to be in our new space.
